RULES

Digging allowed, however, no hammers/chisels allowed. Definitly NO Power Tools. Rock breaking not permitted by the general public for insurance reasons. Mineral Club event participants ARE ALLOWED since Mineral Clubs provide their own liability insurance. No hammering on mine rock walls no matter what.

Pets must be leashed and under your control 100% of the time. You must clean up after your pets.

No flip-flops, open-toe shoes or Crocs. Sneakers are permitted. But hiking boots with good ankle support are preferable. Even better if your boots repel water. Lots of wet areas on the property.

Visitors are encouraged to roam the mine. But please respect the fenced or gated areas which are off limits for your safety. We travel the full length of the mine down hill to an overlook to the south. Then we can walk a path back uphill outside the west side of the mine where there are numerous mineral collecting areas for the adventurous. There is also access to a lower portion of the mineral dump that is actually the parking lot that has recently yielded some mineral specimen surprises.

Mineral Club Events ONLY: In addition to the portion of the property open to the general public, there are some additional parts of the property which insured mineral clubs will be very interested in visiting. We will guide those interested, to these areas.

When the mine is CLOSED, visitors are NOT permitted. This is alternatively known as TRESPASSING. We will detect your presence and respond appropriately. We ask that you turn around and just come back another day when we have open hours.

Violation of these rules and anything from the morning safety briefing will result in your early departure from the property without refund.

We have weekend opportunities for later in the summer/early fall. For individuals, we are opening up collecting event dates during numerous weekend days this summer.
